Journalist and war photographer

Fermín Torrano (Pamplona, Spain, 1996) is a journalist and associate lecturer at the University of the Basque Country. Over the past eight years he has worked on the ground in Ukraine, Israel, the West Bank and Liberia, focusing on armed conflict, post-war trauma and human rights. He is currently Defence Editor at El Confidencial, after four years covering the war in Ukraine as a special correspondent for that outlet and The Telegraph. His photographic work has also been published in major international titles including The Guardian, CNN, Die Zeit and Bloomberg.
